Love and Other Drugs (2010)
Love and Other Drugs
I enjoyed Love and Other Drugs. I wasn't really sure what I was expecting, I only know that I like both Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. I think that they both put in great performances. The story was simple and heartfelt. The dialog was very good. I would definitely recommend this movie.

Empty-Handed, Full-Hearted
This kind of goes against my personality, but does make good sense....
Empty-Handed, Full-Hearted:
It leaves us tired from carrying, so that we are not happy when we meet someone new on our travels.
What if we traveled with empty hands, ready to embrace new experiences, receive new foods, touch new people?
We might feel less prepared when we leave, but the preparedness is an illusion. Stuff doesn’t make us prepared. Having empty hands but a heart that is full of love leaves us prepared for anything.
This doesn’t just apply to taking a trip, but to living each day. Each day is a journey, and we load ourselves up with material possessions, with tasks and projects, with things to read and write, with meetings and calls and texts. Our hands are full, not ready for anything new.
Drop everything, be open to everything.
Enter each day empty-handed, and full-hearted.

We often load ourselves up when we travel, because we want to be prepared for various situations. This burden of being prepared leaves us with our arms full, unable to receive whatever is there when we arrive. It leaves us tired from carrying, so that we are not happy when we meet someone new on our travels.

25. GEORGE CARLIN: On bullshit (EXPLICIT)
25. GEORGE CARLIN: On bullshit (EXPLICIT):

George Carlin week: PART 1, PART 2.
WARNING: Explicit language in all links below
Carlin often said his act covered three main areas. The first was the English language (Euphemisms). The second was the little things and experiences humans all share (A place for my stuff), and the final was the big topics of life such as religion and politics (Why we don’t need the 10 Commandments). However, the theme that permeated all of his material was HUMANITY’S BULLSHIT. He pointed out all the bullshit in the world and warned others from believing any of it. It’s the main message I took from his work and for that, I will forever be grateful. Thank you, George.
- The above quote is actually a mash-up of two of Carlin’s bits – Amercian Bullshit (You are all Diseased) and Proud to be an American (It’s Bad for Ya).
- This is the first piece I did as pure vector artwork using Adobe Illustrator. Although I’m happy with the results, I prefer using pens and Photoshop.
- You can buy all of Carlin’s albums and DVDs at the official George Carlin online store.

Each Day Is Too Short
Each Day Is Too Short:
I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see.

Chris Pirillo’s Dad Tries Windows 8
Chris Pirillo’s Dad Tries Windows 8:
Could be this has no predictive value regarding how regular people will think about Windows 8, but it’s an eye-opener regarding the risk Microsoft is taking by making essential UI navigation elements hidden until you hover the mouse in the right spots. People navigate with their eyes, not by scrubbing the screen with the mouse. It’s a few minutes long but worth watching for the payoff at the end.

To celebrate, we’ll be offering a different album, book, video rental and Android app at a special price each day for the next week in our “7 Days to Play” sale.
